Karen is available for virtual workshops on a variety of topics.
She can also customize sessions to meet your faculty success needs.
Karen's workshops are interactive and aim to engage learners from the moment they enter the virtual meeting room.

Trauma-Aware Teaching

Trauma impacts how we teach, learn, work, and live. This presentation focuses on the pedagogical impacts of trauma in the college classroom. Learners will be able to define trauma and its impacts, and develop strategies to incorporate trauma-awareness into their teaching, regardless of course modality or subject.

Online  Pedagogy

Building on Karen's rich background in mind, brain, and education science (a.k.a. brain-based teaching or neuroeducation), this workshop will empower learners to consider how our brains learn best and to integrate those teaching practices into their online classrooms. Humanizing principles, UDL, and video design will be discussed.

Faculty Well-being

This workshop covers how to sustain ourselves and each other. We'll cover basic stress physiology, what self-care is (and isn't), and how we can create a daily practice to support our well-being. Learners will gain skills to apply these strategies in their lives and in classrooms with students.
